I think I am getting a blister on the side of my thumb. Stupid hoe. No, I did not misspell that. I was working on deweeding my patio a bit this morning. Actually, I think it's mostly done. I just need to clean up the crap I dug up. But that will wait for tomorrow, I think.
I am feeling so lazy. Also, I am not wearing pants (um trousers) because it is too hot. I also don't have any of the lights on because that just makes the room hotter.
Did I misspell 'misspell?'

Title: As Others See Us
Word Count 100
Rating Gen, apart from Vila's imagination.
Avon glared at Blake his dark eyes flashing dangerously.
“Don’t manipulate me, Blake!” he hissed coldly. Blake moved closer so they were practically nose to nose. His own eyes blazed back as he matched fire for fire.
Vila leaned closer to Gan
“Straight out of ‘Dome Life’” he whispered.
“Can’t see them kissing and making up!” Gan grinned thinking of their favourite holovid show’s usual ending to an argument. The mental image of the two men in front of him locked in a passionate embrace popped into Vila’s head.
Avon and Blake turned in astonishment as laughter rang behind them.

Okay, so I got up early and when to the DMV. Getting up early wasn't fun, but it only took me ten minutes to get my license renewed once I got in the door (of course, I got to DMV at about 7:20). Anyway, in three weeks I get a new driver's license with a disturbing picture of me grimacing/grinning.
Also, I got food.
And at 9am it was 80 degrees. :-( Maybe I'll crawl back in bed for an hour or two.

The fire came from the sky, as the wise ones had predicted eons ago. We had obeyed the ancient rulings and stayed out of the sun, but there was no avoiding this. Radiation sleeted into our physical forms; cellular bonds dissolved. We were free!
We rose, traveling along the lines of force back to those who had purified us, cleansed us of evil. No longer would our bodies be used to poison other beings. In gratitude we would watch over our emancipators. When their earthly bonds were broken, we would make them like us, pure in spirit, eternal and innocent.

This season really does rock.
( Spoilery comments )
I do think this season has been very tightly plotted and look forward to the double-ep season finale. I shall be watching it on my own though; Greg the big Lost fan leaves on Tuesday.
The folks at Cornell made a page using my bird pics (along with others) and wanted to ask my approval (I'd told them all along any non-profit use was fine by me). Facebook tells me I have to log in. I do NOT want to risk signing up for Facebook and having yet another Weapon of Mass Distraction in my arsenal.
SO, can anyone out there see this page & give me a way to see it, too?

Of course, you have to try, too. The Lord helps those who help themselves.
( Ok, it's nothing earthshaking, but minor good luck cheers me. )

I have run away to my sisters house for the day; her flowers are almost all flowering. She is at work, but I am seeing her this evening, so I thought I would hang out here instead of at home and be with the cat and make free with her bandwidth, and watch mash, which she owns and I DO NOT.
But I can't find the cat and I can't make Mash play on either the dvd player or my computer, and on my way here I bought a meat and potato pie that then sort of squashed all over everything in my bag, and IT IS FREEZING, which I'm in favour of but I sort of didn't notice when I was getting dressed, I assumed the sun would do that thing where it starts shining at about one pm and IT DID NOT, and I HAVE LOST MY JUGGLING BOOK and my harddrive is full. These are my woes.
I can't find my juggling book anywhere and I LOVE IT and also it's not mine and losing it is not really good and I have fear I gave it to a charity but I can't remember doing that or IMAGINE doing that except I do remember it being a very awkward shape and size that did always annoy me and ruin my shelves but surely I would have remembered if I'd been so annoyed by it that I gave a book that wasn't mine to a charity shop when it was a book I need and want? I don't know.
I don't read the italics in books. You know when there are lots of paragraphs of them. Or an entire preface of italics. In my head they very loudly mean 'SPIN ON, THIS IS NOT THE STORY'. Mind you, prefaces are rarely the story. I don't like italics. I like when we didn't know what was going on on Venus and it might have been monsters. I like that much more than italics.
I read Prelude To Space, one of Arthur C Clarke's first books, and he was guessing we didn't go to the moon until a bit later than we actually did, and it was nice and international and set off from Australia and whatnot, but the men who didn't get picked to the moon weren't too upset because they would probably be picked first for MARS. And OH GOD. Also Captain Picard claims that in 2030 (I think) someone made the *THIRD* (unsuccessful) attempt to leave THE SOLAR SYSTEM in a space craft thingummy. I DON'T THINK WE ARE ON COURSE AT ALL.
I learnt an interesting fact yesterday and now I can't remember it.

MOVING PICTURES are entirely superfluous to television. Why do we put up with them????? They serve NO PURPOSE.
I am watching the Daleks' Masterplan. So far I have seen THREE episodes. ( I am really sorry about how much I post about doctor who. I know it's no worse than posting about everything else I am watching. Except yes. )
I sort of wish there were reconstructions of Blakes 7. Not that they should burn blakes 7. Obviously. But as a viewing choice. Mostly I just want Blake to narrate the quiet bits about how ". . . Avon is standing moodily on the flightdeck, looking worried and a bit guilty and a bit LOST LIKE A LITTLE BOY and a tiny bit furious about HAVING AN EMOTION". Trial. Trial should be reconned. With only one image of Zil so she never makes any sense at all. And maybe only two of Travis, both looking slightly surprised. I love it when people are caught in perpetual surprise because there's only the one picture of them.
Then I watched more of the Daleks' Masterplan, and ( am up to episode sevenish )
